We offer a wide variety of health education programs to promote and ensure the health of the citizens of Marshall County.
- Break the Habit
- A successful quit smoking program offering free nicotine replacement therapy (patches) through the Illinois Tobacco Quitline. This project is made possible by funds received from the Office of Health Promotion, Illinois Department of Public Health.

- Smoke-free Illinois Act
- Illinois became smoke-free on January 1, 2008. Complaints are filed through the Illinois Department of Public Health and forwarded to the local health department. Visit www.smoke-free.illinois.gov for more information.
- Illinois Project for Local Assessment of Needs (IPLAN)
- IPLAN is a community health assessment and planning process that is conducted every five years. This process provides community-wide planning tool for improving community health, prioritizing public health issues, and identifying available resources for Marshall county.
- Building Better Bones
- This program provides education, risk assessment and bone density screening for osteoporosis. Group educational sessions are held covering risk factors and prevention (exercise, diet, fall prevention) to encourage behavior changes to reduce the impact of osteoporosis. This project is made possible by funds received from the Office of Women's Health, Illinois Department of Public Health.
- HealthBreaks
- Health education programs on a variety of topics are provided at no cost to Marshall County schools.
- Vision and Hearing Screenings
- Preschool children can receive vision and hearing screenings. Children with abnormal screening results are referred to physicians and optometrists for examination and treatment. This project is made possible by funds received from the Illinois Department of Public Health.
